Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain on Friday urged officials to minimize accidents by installing CCTV cameras at "black spots" and known accident-prone regions.
The Chief Secretary was taking a review meeting here on road safety and for creating awareness about traffic rules.
Expressing apprehension over movement of stray cattle on roads, he asked officials to map a plan to check the menace by meeting local people.
He also called for strict police action against drunk drivers, those not wearing helmets and rashly driven and overloaded vehicles.
He also reviewed the availability of trauma centers and status of healthcare facilities for accident victims.
Jain also underlined the need to put up traffic sign boards at appropriate points.
