Int’l Nurses Day-- ‘Seva for needy yields self-satisfaction’

Saturday, 14 May 2022 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

The Ganesh Institute of Health and Science at Chandikhol observed the International Nurses Day to pay homage to the sacred soul of Florence Nightingale and recognise the services rendered by the nurses in general and during the Covid-19 pandemic, in particular.

Chairman of Child and Women Development Society Major Dr Kalpana Das was the chief guest on the occasion. She hailed the selfless contribution of all nurses across the world and highlighted the sacrifices they made during the pandemic time, in wars and in conflict zones.

She insisted on three ‘Ds’ which are essential for a nursing trainee to be competent such as discipline, determination and dedication. Seva is the only way by which one can help the needy and distressed with self satisfaction, she said.

Among others, the institute’s director was present on the dais. The civil defence volunteers demonstrated different life survival techniques.
