JBVNL promises to ensure zero power cuts during puja

Saturday, 01 October 2022 | PNS | Ranchi

Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL) has claimed zero cut power in Durga Puja. JBVNL, State's biggest power supplier company, for this, has made elaborate arrangements with uninterrupted power supply from September 30 to October 5.

JBVNL Ranchi GM, PK Srivastava said that all necessary preparations have been done regarding uninterrupted power during the festival. During the worship, there will be no shutdown and maintenance work from 30 September to 5 October, so that there is regular power supply. However, in view of the weather, in special situations, local power stations can go for shutdown with permission of the Executive Engineer of the area.

Electricity personnel will be deployed at all puja pandals of the city to deal with any emergency situation. Puja organizers have been asked to ensure seating and lodging arrangements for electricians who will see that there is no untoward incident.

During Durga Puja, the power company has deployed electricians who will work on shifts. The leave of workers and engineers has been cancelled. From transformers to other electrical repair equipment has been made available in sufficient quantities in the sub-stations as well as in the store rooms. A control room has been set up for worship, whose numbers are 0651-2490014 and 94311-35682.

A separator has been installed in the electric wires passing near the Durga Puja pandal, so that there is no danger to the pandal. Apart from this, common electrical wires in crowded areas have been removed and converted into aerial bunch cables. Apart from this, worn and old wires have been replaced.

Also as rain is likely to play spoilsport, the energy department is making extra precautions. As per MET department,

The MET department has predicted light to heavy rainfall across the State in the first week of October. As per MET office, Ranchi and several other districts of State are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall from October 2 to 4. The weather in the eastern state may change under the influence of cyclonic circulation.

Meanwhile, Ranchi seems to be making up for not being able to celebrate the Durga Puja for the past two years due to the pandemic. All puja committees in the city are busy in preparations in full swing. Grand pandals are being built in different areas in the capital.

More than 310 puja pandals are being built in Ranchi this year. Artisans from different states including Bengal have been called to prepare the Puja pandals. The artisans notably, have set a target to prepare pandals till the fourth day (Chaturthi) of Durga Puja.
