The Vigilance police on Friday caught red-handed Bikram Behera, Junior Assistant, Office of Block Education Officer, Badasahi in Mayurbhanj district while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a person.
Behera had demanded the money from the complainant (Former Head Master) for preparation of a bill towards release of his arrear salary.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches were carried out on the residential quarter of Behera at LIC Colony, Baripada, his office room at Badasahi and house at native village Chhelia (B) under the Badasahi police station.
Later, the Junior Assistant was arrested and forwarded to court.
