Chief Minister and Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said that Lord Ram was the true religion, embodying all the traits of a religion and his life inspiring people to successfully deal with the most difficult situations of life.
Expressing his views during the inauguration of Shree Ram Katha Gyan Yajna on the occasion of the 53rd death anniversary of Yugpurush Brahmalin Mahant Digvijaynath Ji Maharaj and eighth death anniversary of Rashtrasant Brahmalin Mahant Avaidyanath Ji Maharaj at Gorakhnath temple, Yogi said: “Maryada Purushottam Lord Shree Ram is a guide, inspiration and a beacon of light for the entire humanity. His life inspires all of us to fight in difficult situations. Our sages have believed that Shree Ram is the only true religion.â€
Emphasising that Lord Shree Ram is everything, Yogi added that the troubles of one’s life are gone as soon as one hears the story of Lord Shri Ram. The chief minister pointed out that the story of Lord Shri Ram has a liberating impact, one that paves way for success.
Addressing the devotees present in the Digvijaynath Memorial Auditorium of the temple, Yogi Adityanath said that there may be some differences among the scholars regarding the interpretation of religion, but all the traits of religion mentioned in different interpretations, were ingrained in the holy character of Shree Ram.
Yogi Adityanath said that the present generation was fortunate to be joining the tradition of listening to Shree Ram Katha at a time when the construction of a grand temple in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Shree Ram, was going on a war footing. “It has been a long wait of 500 years for the construction of Shree Ram temple in Ayodhya,†the chief minister said, adding that many generations had passed and people had dedicated their lives to it.
“The construction of Shree Ram temple is also a means of showing respect for one's heritage. In order to express gratitude towards one's heritage and the great people involved in its conservation in the past, a katha is organised every year in Gorakhnath temple in the memory of Brahmalin acharyas. Devotees eagerly wait to hear the annual katha,†he said.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also offered his reverence by bowing at the feet of Brahmalin Mahant Digvijaynath and Brahmalin Mahant Avaidyanath. Jagadguru Ramanujacharya Swami Shridharacharya Ji Maharaj (Peethadhishwar, Asharfi Bhawan Ayodhya), seated at Vyaspeeth, made the devotees recite Shree Ram Katha after the chief minister's address.
Jagadguru Swami Raghavacharya, Mahant Suresh Das of Digambar Akhara, Swami Anantacharya, Mahant Shernath, Sant Avadhesh Das, Satua Baba and a large number of saints, hosts and devotees were present on this occasion. Katha will be narrated daily from 3 pm to 6 pm. It will end on September 13 with havan and bhandara.
Before the launch of Shree Ram Katha Gyan Yajna, under the leadership of Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath, a procession was taken out from the main temple to the venue of story-telling amidst the sound of conch shells and Vedic chants. On reaching the venue of the procession, Gorakshpeethadhishwar established the akhand jyoti.
On the occasion of the death anniversary of Brahmalin Mahant Avaidyanath of Gorakshpeeth, a lecture series on various relevant topics will start at 10:30 am on Thursday. Chief Minister and Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath will be present at the launch event. On the first day on September 8, there will be a lecture on the topic 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: From Concept to Siddhi'.
