LPG cylinders catch fire at Chhola

A major accident was averted in the night on Sunday in Chhola Mandir of the State capital after two gas cylinders kept in a slum caught fire and were pacified before it could explode and cause massive damage.

As soon as flames started rising from the slum. Firefighters reached the spot and pacified the fire. People also helped in extinguishing the fire by pouring water. The shanties situated on the side of the railway track in Chola Mandir reported a sudden fire broke out in a shanty which also engulfed the nearby slum.

Firefighter Pankaj Yadav said that due to the closure of railway gates on both sides, firefighters were unable to reach the spot. Due to this, the fire brigade reached on Motorbike Fire tender and tried to control the fire with the help of fire extinguishers. Seeing the fire rising, the fire brigade team, with the help of the police and residents, controlled the fire by installing pipes in the houses.

Flames were coming out of the slum. As soon as the fire tenders reached inside and two burning gas cylinders were thrown out of the house. The fire was extinguished before the major accident happened. There are many slums in the area.

Residents rushed to help when the fire broke out in the Chola  Mandir area which helped in the pacification of the fire. In the fire goods were gutted to ashes and no one was injured in the arson incident.
