Rs. 11.30 lakh were cheated in the name of the representative of Micro Finance Company from Dashrath Ram, resident of Jhura village of Garhwa police station area. After taking the money, accused Dharmendra Singh filled bundles of paper in the bag in the name of giving Rs 40 lakh rupees of the loan and escaped.
Based on the complaint Garhwa police registered an FIR under various sections of IPC.
Victim Dashrath Ram said that he has a cement-rod shop in Tedi Haraiya village. A person was asking him to get a loan of Rs 50 lakh in the name of a micro finance company for four months. He gave security money of Rs. 11 lakh and Rs. 30 thousand for additional expenses.
The accused also took papers from Dasharatha in the name of loan. Then after this he reached the shop on January 19 with a bag on the bike. The accused gave the bag to Dasharatha stating that it contained Rs 40 lakh. He did not consider it appropriate to open it in the shop immediately. When he later reached home and opened the bag, he found bundles of paper in it. Until then the accused had absconded. When the victim wanted to contact the fraud over the phone, the mobile of the accused was found switched off. The victim reached the Garhwa police station and lodged an FIR.
Police station in-charge Krishna Kumar said that police have registered an FIR and adding further investigation is underway.
Online Quiz Competition for Children organised at NTPC CMHQ

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahastov, an online Quiz Competition for children was held on Saturday as part of the week-long celebration to Commemorate Netaji Subash Chandra Bose’s Birth Anniversary at NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters, Ranchi. This year Govt. of India has decided to celebrate Republic Day Celebrations commencing from the date of birth anniversary of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose.
On the occasion, Mahua Mazumder, President, Swayamsiddha Ladies Club was the Chief Guest and Shri Alios Topno, General Manager (HR) was guest of honour for the quiz event. The participants for the quiz program were school children from Class 5th to 10th standard who took part through online mode from all NTPC Coal Mining projects namely Pakri Barwadih, Chattibariattu, Keredari, Dulanga and Taliapalli.
The quiz was conducted through MS Team and hosted by Tanmoy Dutta, DGM(HR) cum Quiz Master. In total 19 teams with two members in each team took part in the quiz show.
The quiz was based on multiple-choice questions. The participants were given random questions based on Netaji Subas Chandra Bose life history and Indian Freedom Fighters. Children answered the questions live through whatsapp mode. The team who gave the maximum correct answers in the least minimum time was adjudged as the winner and runners respectively.
Encouraging the participants, Mahua Mazumder said such quiz programmes are a good opportunity to have interaction, gain knowledge and appreciate the efforts of children who participated in large numbers. She added that everybody is a winner so each participant should enjoy the quiz. Alois Topno too appreciated the efforts for organizing the program and added that “never say we are losers, You all are winners”.
