A man allegedly hacked his elder brother to death following a heated argument in Madhipur village under the Sadar police station of Mayurbhanj district late on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Meghray Saren (45).
Meghray was a habitual boozer and often created nuisance after returning home drunk.
As per reports, Meghray who returned home at night as usual in an inebriated condition picked up a fight with his younger brother Lakhmana.
During the altercation, Lakhmana lost his cool and attacked Meghray with a sharp-edged weapon.
As a result, he sustained grave injuries and died on the spot.
On getting the information, police rushed to the spot, arrested the accused and seized the weapon used in the crime.
