Chhattisgarh Police on Wednesday arrested a man and seized 371 kg of cannabis valued at Rs 22.26 lakhs from him in a raid in Rajnandgaon city.
Rajnandgaon Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh told The Pioneer that Pukhraj Verma has been taken into custody for smuggling drugs.
Police seized the cannabis from Verma’s house after a specific tip.
Also, 25 grams gold chain worth Rs 12.50 lakh and 32 grams gold bracelet valued at Rs 16 lakh besides Rs 12.48 in cash were recovered from him.
A court granted a day's police custody to question Verma.
