Minor kills classmate for ‘ogling’ his sister

In a bizarre incident, a 15-year-old boy allegedly killed his 16-year-old classmate, suspecting that his best friend was ogling at his sister.

The body of the teenager was found in an orchard in Dhampur town of Bijnor. Police said the accused was detained on Friday.

Giving this information on Saturday, Dhampur’s Circle Officer Indu Siddharth said the police had recovered the knife used in the murder. The victim's mobile phone was also recovered from the school bag of the accused.

They were students of Class IX in a private school in Nagina.

As the incident involves different communities, a heavy police force was deployed in the region to maintain law and order, police said.

The CO said, "The accused told the police that the victim used to frequent his house and ogle at his sister and that is why he hatched a plan to eliminate his friend. The accused took him on his motorcycle to a mango orchard on Thursday evening and they consumed alcohol. He then killed his buddy by slitting his throat."

The family members of the victim later lodged a 'missing' report after the boy did not return home till late Thursday night. After recovery of the body on Friday, the cops swung into action and picked up the friend for interrogation after which he confessed to the crime.

 

YOUTH RAPES WOMAN

In Ballia, a case has been registered against a youth for allegedly raping an 18-year-old Dalit woman and making a video, police said on Saturday.

The police said the youth and the woman were residents of the same village in Bansdih police station limits.

Bansdih police station SHO Yogendra Singh said a case had been registered against the 22-year-old youth under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the SC/ST Act.

In her complaint, the woman alleged that when she had gone to attend the call of nature on September 20, the accused took her to a sugarcane field and raped her. He also made a video of the act, she added.

The woman was sent for medical examination, Singh said.

 

WANTED CRIMINAL KILLED IN ENCOUNTER

Meanwhile, an accused carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh was killed in a police encounter in Jaunpur, officials said on Saturday.

Vinod Singh (40) was wanted in over two dozen cases of robbery, murder and dacoity in Jaunpur and neighbouring districts.

Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Sahni said a constable, Ajay Singh, was injured in the encounter in Badlapur area late on Friday night.

Singh, a history-sheeter, was a resident of Chittampatti village in Sarpatahan police station limits of Jaunpur.

The SSP added that a 9 mm mini carbine, a 32 bore pistol, large quantities of live cartridges and a stolen motorcycle were recovered from the accused.
