Minor strangled to death by father in Bijnor

In a shocking incident in Bijnor, a man allegedly killed his minor son after the child objected to his drinking alcohol.

Police arrested the accused father and started investigation into the matter.

The incident took place under the Haldaur police station area of Bijnor district, where Chhotey Singh, a native of Umri village, is addicted to alcohol and often drinks liquor. On Sunday, his son objected and tried to stop his father from consuming liquor after which the man lost his cool and in a fit of rage he strangled his son to death.

The family rushed the boy to the doctor but he was pronounced dead

Station Officer of Haldaur police station, Uday Pratap, said that on the basis of post-mortem report, a murder case was registered against the father and he was sent to jail.

Meanwhile in another incident in Hardoi, an ITI student shot himself with a pistol in his room on Sunday night. When the family members reached the room after hearing the gunshot, the student was lying in a pool of blood. The family members brought him to Trauma Centre in Lucknow but the student died. The police are investigating the matter.

Reports said that Ankit Dubey was studying in ITI in Sakrauli village of Lonar area in Hardoi. The family members said that Ankit got addicted to drugs and started smoking cigarettes.

According to the police, Ankit was smoking a cigarette on Sunday evening and his mother spotted him. The mother scolded him for smoking a cigarette and there was an altercation between the two. After this, in anger, Ankit shot him with a pistol in his room. Hearing the gunshot, the family members rushed to the room and took him to the district hospital where the doctor referred him to Lucknow.

A case was registered and further investigations were on.

In Gorakhpur, a 19-year-old youth, identified as Prashant Shukla, hanged himself after getting fed up with the beating of his father. He was a resident of Panapar and his maternal grandfather was in Bagahi. Prashant's maternal grandfather has accused the son-in-law of assault. He said that Prashant committed suicide due to frequent beating. Police are investigating the case.

Prashant's maternal grandfather Om Prakash Pandey filed a complaint at the Bansgaon police station and said that he had married his daughter Kiran 24 years ago in Panapar. She died 15 years ago. After that, grandson Prashant Shukla and granddaughter were living with him. When both of them grew up, their father took them with him. On Sunday night, Prashant came and informed him that his father along with one person beat them regularly after getting drunk. After that he had dinner in the night and went to sleep in the room. When the door of Prashant’s room did not open till late in the morning, he broke the door open with the help of some people and saw Prashant's body hanging from the ceiling in the room.

Police are interrogating Prashant's father and have taken him into custody.
