Missing boy’s body found in drain

The body of a minor boy, who had gone missing from Monday, was found inside a drain in the Niladri Vihar area under the Chandrasekharpur police station here on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Daitya Raj Nayak, a resident of Panda Park slum.  

According to sources, Nayak’s family members had filed a complaint at the Chandrasekharpur police station on June 13. Some local residents spotted the body in the drain and informed police.

Later, a police team reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for postmortem.. “A case has been registered in this regard and police along with a forensic team have initiated a probe,” an official said.

On the other hand, the family of the deceased has alleged that he has been killed and his body was dumped in the drain.
