Mobile phone snatched from media person

A 28-year-old media person was robbed of his mobile phone by two scooter borne miscreants at Punjabi Bagh area under Ashoka Garden police station area in the night on Wednesday.

Police said that the victim Gaurav Mishra was robbed while he along with his friend had gone for walk and was speaking over mobile phone and when he reached Punjabi Bagh main road he was attacked and robbed by two scooter borne miscreants.

The victim in his complaint stated that the two miscreants obstructed his way and fled away snatching his mobile phone over which he was talking.

Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 392 of the IPC and started search for the accused.

The victim works with a media house and lives in New Ashoka Garden area.

In his complaint Gaurav stated that he had gone for walk and after covering little distance he received a call after which he picked the call and continued to move forward but unaware of the scooter borne miscreants he was robbed of his mobile phone.

The victim and his friend chased the robbers for long distance but accused managed to flee the spot and are still absconding.

Police suspects that the miscreants were those who live in the near slums and target those who they found in deserted area and moving while talking over mobile phone. During further investigation police would search for details of miscreants in the footages of CCTV cameras installed in the area, said police.
