How even influential people are receiving government benefits meant for the poor came to the fore when a parliamentarian and his legislator son were found to be enrolled to receive the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PMKSNY).
However, it is not yet clear whose fault it is. After the matter came to the fore, a probe was ordered so that necessary action could be taken against the guilty.
Reports said that the names of Robertsganj MP Pakodi Lal Kol and his MLA son from Chhanabe, Rahul Prakash Kol, were found in the list of beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Nine installments of the Samman Nidhi have also gone to the MP's account. The Kisan Nidhi installment, however, was not credited in the MLA’s account due to non-verification of his Aadhaar number.
After this matter came to the fore, the deputy director, agriculture, said that the issue would be investigated. This matter came to light while verifying the list sent by the Agriculture Department. Tehsil officials believe that this is wrong and will be canceled after investigation. They now claim that the amount will be recovered after finding the truth.
The family members of the MP say that they have an account in Punjab and Sind Bank branch located in Kubari Patehara, but they are not aware of the head under which the money has come.
Pakori Lal is a resident of Patehra Kala village of Madihan tehsil. In the list of Patehra area, at serial number 672 is the name of Panna Devi, wife of MP Pakodi Kol. The ID number is UP 252991098. Robertsganj MP Pakori Lal's name is at serial number 674 with ID number UP 2530003972. The name of MLA Rahul Prakash (ID UP 253023259) is written at serial number 675. Not a single installment of the scheme reached the account of the MLA due to non-uploading of his Aadhaar number.
In this regard, Tehsildar Phoolchand Yadav said that recovery would be made after investigation.
Pakori Lal Kol said that he did not have any information about this and neither he himself nor his family was eligible for the Kisan Samman Nidhi. “It is likely that the revenue employees sent my name as a farmer during verification and the Samman Nidhi was approved. The name can also be misused by someone else. Whatever happens, we will get it investigated,” the parliamentarian said.
Deputy Agriculture Director Ashok Upadhyay admitted that the names of the parliamentarian, his wife and son were in the list of beneficiaries. “Whether it was due to departmental error or whether the name was included by giving wrong information, will be clear after investigation. However, not a single installment was sent in the MLA's account due to non-availability of Aadhaar verification. Whether the installment of the scheme has gone to the account of the MP or not, it will be clear after investigation,” he said.
A letter has been written to the sub-divisional magistrate and departmental officers of Madihan tehsil to check the names of beneficiaries of the entire village so that any irregularities could be corrected and money could be recovered from beneficiaries not eligible for Kisan Samman Nidhi.
