After prolonged demands, a new plastic surgery unit has started functioning in the VIMSAR, Burla. Dr Mahesh Mandal, Assistant Professor from the SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack, has joined as the new plastic surgeon here. The OPD for the department will function twice in a week, Wednesday and Friday, informed Hospital Superintendent Dr Lalmohan Nayak. Earlier, there was demand for five super specialty units, including plastic surgery, in the hospital. Besides these, two doctors have joined in the Department of Neurology and Urology here recently.
