Amid a spike in Covid cases, the Mahasamund administration on Thursday imposed curbs including night curfew in the Chhattisgarh district.

District Collector Nilesh Kumar Kshirsagar instructed officials to act on a war footing to deal with the third wave of Covid-19.

Night curfew had been enforced in the district from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. All rallies and social, cultural and religious gatherings, major sports events and the assembly of more than five people at one place have been banned.

All schools, Anganwadi centers, libraries and swimming pools will be closed till further orders, the official said.

Public places like hotels, cinema halls and theaters can function with 33 percent (one third) of its seating capacity. The permission of the Collector is necessary before organizing social events.

Persons reaching the district at inter-state bus stands and railway stations have to produce RTPCR test report of not more than 72 hours old.

Similarly, persons who had traveled to abroad or reach the district from any foreign country must submit their travel history, the order said.
