Swayamsiddha Ladies Club, NTPC Coal Mining HQ organised the Teej Festival with pomp and grandeur here on Saturday.
The Teej program began with the welcoming of Mahua Mazumder, President, Swayamsiddha Ladies Club by the senior committee executive members of the club. Later Smitha Wilson, Secretary welcomed the members for participation in the Teej Programme.
On the occasion, Mazumder addressing the august gathering shared the significance of the Teej Festival, she said that Worshipping Lord Shiva and Goddess Parbati in the month of Sawan is considered very auspicious. Due to the greenery all around Sawan, it is also called Hariyali Teej.
To celebrate Teej Festival in a festive flavour, various competitions like Best Saree Draping, Best Nail Art, Best Smile, Best Eye Make-up, Best Jewellery, and Best Charming Personality were conducted for the Ladies Club members.
In addition, Teej Queen Competition was organised for the members, the winners were selected through three rounds e,g Self -Introduction, Ramp Walk and Question by Judges round.
In the Teej queen competition, Ramya was crowned as Teej Queen and Reshma Behera was the first runner-up and Gangotri Das was declared the second runner-up.
Cultural Programme was the added attraction during the Teej programme, which was participated by all members to make the event a grand success
