Woman Fide Master Saina Salonika added one more feather to her crown by clinching the Woman International Master (WIM) title.
The WIM title was approved by the World Chess Federation in the FIDE Congress recently held at Mahabalipuram on August 9 during the Chess Olympiad and the WIM Certificate issued by FIDE was received on Tuesday.
Saina got her first WIM norm in the Goa International GM tournament in June 2019, followed by her 2nd WIM norm in Orbis IM Round Robin Tournament held at Paracin, Serbia in December 2019 and the Third WIM norm in the IM Mix tournament held at Novisad, Serbia from May 16 to 21, 2022.The present rating of Saina is 2209.
Till today, Saina has bagged 20 international medals which include 14 Gold. Daughter of Ganeswar Jena and Babita Jena, Saina hails from Sulan village in Hatadihi Block of Keonjhar district. She is now pursuing her Graduation course in Miranda House College, Delhi University.
