Odisha has achieved yet another milestone in the health sector. The State has been able to reduce the infant mortality rate (IMR) by 39 points, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here on Thursday.
At present, 36 infants are dying in every 1,000 live births in the State. The IMR in Odisha is the lowest among all the States in the country, Patnaik said at a meeting of the ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative.
The Chief Minister congratulated the Health and Family Welfare Department, Women and Child Development Department and Mission Shakti Department for the achievement.
He advised everyone to join hands in the progress and development of the State.
