Haryana Social Justice and Empowerment Minister OP Yadav on Wednesday said that the process of construction of old age homes has been started in all the districts of the state for the convenience of the elderly. The construction work of an old age home in district Rewari has been completed and soon this building will be dedicated to the public. Apart from this, he also directed to prepare the final list of applications for state awards of Divyangjans at the earliest.
The Minister was presiding over the meeting of district social welfare officers to review the state level departmental schemes here in Chandigarh.
He said that the schemes of the department should be implemented properly so that people get the benefits on time. There should not be any laxity in the schemes being run by the government. He said that now the old age honour allowance scheme has been linked to CRID and PPP by the department, so keep PPP updated. Now the old age pension will automatically start when the eligible person attains the age of 60 years. For this they do not need to go to the offices and apply.
Yadav directed the higher officials to monitor the implementation of the schemes from time to time. If there is any kind of negligence by the officials strict action has been directed against them. During the meeting, he took detailed information about Ladli Social Security Allowance Scheme, Old Age Samman Pension Scheme, Widow Pension, Divyang Jan Schemes and gave necessary guidelines.
