A 40-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself after incurring a huge loss in an online trading. The incident took place in Sadasahi village under Asti GP under Baliapal police limits and the deceased was identified as Purna Chandra Das who was working as a clerk in a nearby society office.
The family members of Purna Chandra could observe that he was disturbed for quite some days and was not disclosing anything about his stress. However, on Wednesday night he went to sleep in a separate room and on Thursday morning when he neither opened the door and nor responded to the call of his wife, the family members broke open the door and found him hanging from the ceiling of the roof.
Getting the information, Baliapal police arrived at the spot and recovered the body. The cops sent the body for autopsy and filed a case.
Notably, Purna Chandra had obtained Rs 15 lakh hand loan from different people and invested it in online share market hoping to reap faster and better returns. However, he slipped into losses for which he was under constant mental pressure over repaying the money. However, before committing suicide, Purna Chandra wrote a note to his wife requesting her to take care of his mother and child, besides mentioning that he was responsible for his death.
Meanwhile, police after seizing the body and the handwritten suicide note initiated an investigation.
