Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Punjab affairs co-in-charge Raghav Chadha on Sunday said that party candidate and party workers from Malerkotla lodged an FIR against Mohammad Mustafa, principal strategic advisor to Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu, for his “provocative” and “peace threatening” statement. “He tried to disturb the atmosphere of Punjab and conspired to divide people on religion. To ensure peace and brotherhood in Punjab, AAP leaders have filed an FIR against Mustafa,” said Chadha. Chadha said that Mohammad Mustafa is not only close to Sidhu, he is also very close to Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. “Mustafa, however powerful, cannot be above the law. Any person who tries to disturb the atmosphere of Punjab should be dealt with the strictest action against him and AAP has just ensured that,” he added.
AAP leader said that party workers and leaders held protests against Mustafa everywhere in the State and also complained to the Election Commission about his provocative remarks. Chadha appealed to the Election Commission to take notice of Mustafa's provocative statement and demanded strict action against him for trying to vitiate the atmosphere in a poll-bound state.

Sangrur: SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal demanded immediate arrest of former DGP Mohammad Mustafa for trying to incite communal clashes in Malerkotla with his incendiary statements. SAD chief also urged the Election Commission to take note of the development and order the immediate arrest of Mustafa. “This is much needed to restore the confidence of the people in the democratic set up which has been vitiated by the officer who is the husband of Malerkotla MLA and Congress Minister Razia Sultana,” said Sukhbir while talking to mediapersons.
