In view of Republic Day celebrations in the national Capital, Delhi Police has deployed 27,713 personnel across the city. Police said that since last two months, various verification drivers have been conducted and intensive anti-terror measures is being taken.
“In the national capital for the Republic Day parade, we have more than 20 thousand force including officers and personnel. This includes Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors (SI) along with Armed Police Force of Delhi Police, commandos, officers and jawans of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) have been deployed for duty,” said Rakesh Asthana, the Delhi Police Commissioner, while briefing press about Republic Day arrangements in the city.
“A total of 27,723 Force of Delhi Police have been deployed including 71 DCsP, 213 ACsP, 753 Inspectors. They will be assisted by 65 companies of Central Armed Police Force who have also been deployed,” said the CP.
The top cop asserted that since the last two months, the Delhi Police have intensified its anti-terror measures in coordination with other security agencies. These measures have been taken on 26 parameters very intensively.
“Since last two months, we have intensified our anti-terror measures. These measures are taken on 26 parameters very intensively. It is also because, Delhi has always been a target for terrorists or anti-social elements. This year too we have been very much alert,” he said. According to a recent order, operation of sub-conventional aerial platforms, including UAVs, paragliders and hot air balloons, over the national capital has been prohibited in the city from January 20 in view of Republic Day celebrations. The order shall come into force from January 20 and remain in effect till February 15.
