The 5th All India Conference of Postal and Telecom Accounts and Finance Officers Association (P and TAFOA) was held here from June 23 to 25. The delegates of Gazetted officers of IP and TAFS cadre of Department of Posts and Telecom from 22 Circles attended the biennial three-day conference.

Circle secretary Srikanta Mahapatra welcomed the dignitaries. The Senior Deputy Director General (Postal Accounts and Finance) of Department of Posts headquarters presided.

National general secretary of the association DR Yadav elaborated that the cadre is going through a critical transitional phase and brought to the notice of dignitaries of the problems faced by the cadre and requested to address them early.

Chief guest, Member (Finance), Department of Telecom Dilip Padhey expressed that the association not only belongs to the member officers, superior officers are also stakeholders in it and assured to look after the demands holistically.  Among others, Director of Accounts (Postal) Prasant Kumar Dash spoke.

Association president Vinod Nijhawan discussed about issues of cadre officers and requested the Member (Finance) to settle the genuine demands.

Vinod Nijhawan, Santosh Goswami and S Meenal were unanimously elected as president, general secretary and finance secretary of the association respectively. From Odisha Circle, Gadadhar Rath, Srikanta Mahapatra and Parbati Prasad Misra were elected as additional general secretary, organising secretary and member of CHQ Secretariat, respectively.
