CONG SATYAGRAHA DEMANDS AGNIPATH WITHDRAWAL  (Pix)

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar District Congress Committee staged a Satyagraha in front of the Raj Bhavan on Monday demanding withdrawal of the Agnipath scheme of the Central Government.

Bhubaneswar: New Chief General Manager of State Bank of India Bhubaneswar Circle ChanderShekhar Sharma met Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal at the Raj Bhavan here on Monday and presented him a bouquet on behalf of the SBI family with lots of good wishes. Sharma assured the SBI’s commitment to deliver all people-oriented schemes of the Central and State Governments to reach each individual of the State with better banking and customer services. LIONS CLUB BBSR HOLDS INSTALATION FEST  (Pix)

Bhubaneswar: The Lions Club Bhubaneswar Orissa on Monday held its installation ceremony for the year 2022-23 under the chairmanship of former district governor Prafula Kumar Sahu. New office-bearers Sarat Kumar Parida, president, Prasant Kumar Parida, secretary, and Sanjay Kumar, treasurer, took oath. While former governor Dr PK Tripathy inducted new members, regional chairman Lalitendu Satapathy and Ashok Agrawal thanked the club members for their extraordinary work. Lion Eye Hospital chairman Sudhanshu Mohanty presented the details of activities of the hospital.

 

AIIMS BBS AMONG BEST 20 MED COLLEGES IN INDIA

Bhubaneswar: The AIIMS Bhubaneswar has been placed among the best 20 medical colleges in the country. It has been ranked 20 in the Medical category by India Today survey 2022. AIIMS Bhubaneswar Director Prof. Mukesh Tripathi has congratulated all stakeholders for such a ranking.

 

5 CSPUR DAVIANS QUALIFY IN KVPY RESULTS

Bhubaneswar: In the recently-published prestigious Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana results, five students of the DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur have qualified with top ranks. The KVPY is conducted by the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. The successful students are Ashirbad Ota (42 R), Siddhakali S Mallik (43R), Ananya Ghoswal (690R), P Stitapragyan (932R) and Sthiti Padhi (1334R). They are eligible to pursue higher studies and research at different dignified institutions of the country with attractive scholarships. The school authorities congratulated them and their mentors for the remarkable success.

 

SUMUM GETS BEST CORPORATE HOSP AWARD

Bhubaneswar: The SUM Ultimate Medicare (SUMUM) here has been chosen as the ‘Best Corporate Hospital’ by the Business Club of Entrepreneurs (BCE). The award was presented to SUMUM Chief Executive Officer Dr Swetapadma Dash at a function organised by the BCE here on Saturday.

 

NEW KALAHANDI DM ASSUMES CHARGE  (Pix)

Bhawanipatna: P Anweshsa Reddy assumed office as Collector of Kalahandi district on Monday. She told reporters that roads and infrastructure along with the Biju Expressway, medical college and bus-stand would be completed within the time limits. Paddy procurement, health and education sectors would also be among her key focus areas. Besides, she would ensure adequate supply of drinking water to the people in remote areas. Staff shortage in many offices would be managed by giving additional charge to the concerned officers. Earlier, Reddy worked as PD, DRDA, Mayurbhanj district. 

 

RALAB SANKALP SCHOOL HOLDS INT’L DRUG ABUSE WEEK

Brahmapur: The Sankalp Vidyalaya at Ralab celebrated International Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking Week on Saturday. Brahmapur SP Dr Shravan Vivek and Brahmapur DFO Amlan Nayak joined as guests. The speakers enlightened students saying that they must talk to their parents about what is happening at each moment and advised the students to stay away from addiction. Institution’s director Sarthak, chairman ET Rao and Principal Pradeep Kishore Panigrahy advised the students to stay away from drug addiction. Students Anshika Mishra, Sai Reddy, Ashirwad Sahu and Ritvik Bharadwaj also participated in the discussion.

 

KONARK EXP STOPPED IN T’NGANA AS SMOKE SPOTTED

Bhubaneswar: The Konark Express was briefly halted at the Dornakal junction in Mahabubabad district in Telangana on Monday when passengers spotted smoke in an air-conditioned coach. The train was on its way from Mumbai to Bhubaneswar. The coach was delinked from the train and its passengers were accommodated in other coaches.
