Panchayat polls in three phases in MP

The dates for the Panchayat elections in Madhya Pradesh have been announced. The State Election Commission has announced the election of panchayats in three stages in a press conference on Friday.

Panchayat elections will be held in three phases. Polling will be held in the first phase on June 25, in the second phase on July 1 and in the third phase on July 8. The voting time will be from 7 am to 3 pm. Panchayat elections will not be held by EVM. The election will be held through ballot papers. The tabulation of counting of votes for the posts of Panch, Sarpanch, Janpad Panchayat member and election results will be held on July 14.

The block level tabulation of votes for the post of Zilla Panchayat member will be held on July 14. At the same time, the votes for the post of Zilla Panchayat member and election result will be declared on July 15 at the district headquarters.

With the announcement of the election schedule of the commission, the model code of conduct has become effective in rural areas from Friday. However, it will not have any effect in the urban body.

The elections will be held for 4 lakh posts. Nominations can be filled from May 30. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is June 10 till 3 pm. The tenure of 91 panchayats will end in November, after which their elections will be held. In a press conference, the State Election Commissioner said that the state government has done the reservation of the panchayats and given it to us.

 

According to the order of the Supreme Court, the state election commission has to declare elections by June 1. In view of the rains, Panchayat elections and held first. On May 30, the notification of the elections will be issued by the collector. Nomination papers will be accepted till 6th June, after which the scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on the next day.
