PM interacts with Simdega DC, takes development report

Sunday, 23 January 2022 | PNS | Ranchi

To know development and challenges of aspirational districts of the Country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with Simdega Deputy Commissioner (DC), Sushant Guarav on Saturday through virtual mode and asked him as to how he motivates the employees working under him. The DC replied that if the service related matter of the people is properly resolved, then people are very happy and if employees are given promotions and increments on time, then the enthusiasm of the employees remains high.

During this programme, the DCs of the districts presented their report to the Prime Minister for about one and a half minutes on the development in various areas in the district due to inclusion in the aspirational scheme. In this, the details of the achievements of the district in the field of agriculture, education, health besides sports were presented. Simdega district got three minutes' time.

During the online conversation Gaurav said that whether one has come from the administrative service, whether from the agricultural service or from the engineering service, everyone is encouraged that they have come to serve and not to do one’s jobs. “Arriving in the office at 10 o'clock on any one day does not make the system better, but it has to be maintained regularly. If there is a lack in the motivation of an employee, then as a leader, it makes it an obligation to motivate him for better work from time to time. Apart from this, rewarding work is done from time to time based on the ranking of the work of the employees,” he added.

Before this, the DC also apprised about the work being done in the district under the aspirational district and the status of the district. He said that Simdega is a plateau district, soil here is acidic and poverty is rampant in Simdega due to low agricultural productivity. “Farming is being done in Simdega through solar lift irrigation in 5000 acres of land, connecting 1500 families with public participation. Ragi has been cultivated in 2500 acres. The increase in agricultural production has proved to be helpful in removing the problem of malnutrition and anaemia in the district,” he added.

Gaurav further said that under the Aspirational District Programme, Simdega district has secured the third position in the whole Country by achieving more than 30 per cent achievement on all the five indicators. “In the field of education, 100 per cent schools have been electrified. Due to this there has been a 12 per cent increase in the enrollment of girls. A total of 30 stadiums are being constructed to promote sports in the district. In which international hockey stadium and two indoor stadiums are included. Last year two national level hockey competitions were organized in the district. International hockey player, Salima Tete from village Badkichapar of Simdega, reached the Tokyo Olympics,” he added.

In the end, the DC said that e-office is being successfully operated under good governance which has helped in taking the decision immediately. Good initiatives have also been taken in the field of health and oxygen plant and city scan facility has been provided, he added.
