Ranchi Police team busted the illegal liquor business running with the help of smugglers of Punjab and other States on Friday in BIT Mesra OP area and Namkum police station area. So far, the police have arrested five people in this case. At the same time, along with a large consignment of liquor, lakhs of empty liquor bottles have also been recovered by the police.

Ranchi police arrested Lucky, the most wanted liquor mafia of Punjab, UP, Bihar and Jharkhand. He is originally from Punjab.

The biggest illegal liquor factory in the State Capital has been busted by the Ranchi Police and two trucks of liquor have also been recovered. In fact, Ranchi Police had received secret information that a large consignment of illicit liquor is going to go out of Ranchi. After which Ranchi SSP deputed Special Forces under the leadership of Sadar DSP and a truck full of liquor was caught. At the same time, during interrogation, it came to the fore that the illegal liquor mafia of Punjab is involved in this black business of illicit liquor.

As per the police sources information, the inter-State liquor mafia is a resident of Punjab, who was wanted in dozens of cases. “Lucky, accused of doing illegal liquor business in many states, is a resident of Punjab. Who has been arrested by Ranchi Police. Liquor was sent to Bihar with the help of smugglers from Punjab. These smugglers or mafia were secretly handling a large network of liquor. The police was not even aware of this illegal liquor business going on for years. The liquor imported from Haryana Punjab used to reach Ranchi. After this it was sent to Bihar. The accused was doing illegal liquor business in the name of cold drinks business,” he added.

This is not the first case of illegal liquor being sent from the capital Ranchi. Illegal liquor consignments are often sent from Ranchi to Bihar. For this work, everything is set from top to bottom. Sometimes, in the name of action, blasphemy is done. In April 2022, liquor mafia Vipin Kumar Singh was arrested from the capital Ranchi under the leadership of DSP Subodh Kumar of Bihar Prohibition Division, raiding Baidyanath Residential located in Bariatu area. Vipin Kumar Singh used to supply liquor illegally in Bihar by sitting in Ranchi but the Ranchi Police did not even know about it and the team of Bihar was arrested and taken away.
