After attacking the government over a brutal attack on protesting job aspirants, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday spoke to the competitive exam candidates suffering from police repression in Prayagraj and assured them of her party’s full cooperation in seeking justice.
After the demonstration against Railway NTPC and Group D exam results, the police had beaten the students by breaking the doors of their hostel rooms. Students narrated their oppression to Priyanka Gandhi.
``We stand with you. I will raise your point from every forum, in every forum”, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra assured the students while interacting with them.
``Don't be afraid, ensure that elections are held on your issues, on your employment issues”, Priyanka Gandhi added.
``The government does not give you a job and also oppresses you. Now when leaders come to ask for votes, fix their accountability,” Priyanka made an appeal.
“Job Calendar is the solution to save the recruitment process from hanging for years. We have talked about the job calendar in our youth announcement,” Priyanka claimed.
She also promised the students that she would soon reach Prayagraj and meet them to discuss their problems and help them to get it resolved.
Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate voiced her support for the students. She said the manner in which the students were baton-charged, it seems to be a conspiracy against the youth.
“It's embarrassing. It is like a blot on civilised society, democracy and a huge conspiracy is being hatched against the younger generation”, she said.
It is worth mentioning that in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh and Patna, the capital of Bihar, the candidates created a ruckus alleging irregularities in the results of NTPC recruitment examination of the Railways. In Prayagraj on Tuesday, students reached the railway track and tried to stop the trains. After that, in a video on social media, policemen were seen entering a guest house and brutally beating up the students. Several policemen have been suspended in this case.
On the other hand, in Patna, the candidates set fire to a train coach and stopped a goods train in front of the Rajendra Nagar terminal, alleging rigging in the RRB-NTPC exam.
