Pro Panja League concludes at Gwalior fort

Asia’s biggest arm wrestling tournament, Pro Panja League Arm Wrestling Tournament concluded on Monday with a glittering final showdown at the Gwalior Fort. The final was played among 30 finalists in various categories.

After the competition ended, a special function to mark the conclusion of this prestigious event was held at the fort premises. Chairman of the MP Housing Board, Ashutosh Tiwari was the Chief Guest of the program. World arm wrestling champion, Michael Todd; his wife Mrs. Todd,  President of the Asian Arm Wrestling Federation, Jeenbek Mukambetov; President of the Indian Arm Wrestling Federation, Haseem Raja;  Praveen Dabas, founder of Pro Panja League;  Preeti Jhangiani, co-founder and director of Pro Panja League also participated in the wrapping up function.

Speaking at the function, Chairman of the MP Housing Board, Ashutosh Tiwari said that though there are various games, Pro Panja tournament is one full of excitement and thrill. He added that he will put in all efforts to see that the government supports this game.

Presiding over the function, Keshav Pandey, President of the Arm Wrestling Academy said that the tournament was a grand success and thanked all the participants, guests, and especially Michael Todd for making the event such a magnificent success. Praveen Dabas, founder of Pro Panja League and   Preeti Jhangiani, co-founder and director of Pro Panja League also thanked everyone and assured that the next event will be more impressive.

The final winners include Arya VP from Kerala and Chetna Sharam from Assam  in the senior women’s’ category; Yogesh Chaudhary from Haryana and Yasser Arafat from Kerala in the senior men’s category; Rahul Panicker and Askar Ali , both from Kerala in the 80 plus kilogram category and Jagadish Barua from Assam and Majahir Saidu from Kerala in the 100 plus kilogram category. There was a special category for the differently-abled players and Chandan Kumar Behra from Odisha won the gold in it.
