Pro Punja league arm wrestling competition to be held in Gwalior from July 22

Asia’s biggest arm wrestling tournament, Pro Punja League Arm Wrestling Tournament will be held in Gwalior from July 22 onwards. Pro Punja League is recognised by the Arm Wrestling Federation of India.

Talking to the media persons here on Monday, Keshav Pandey, President of the Arm Wrestling Academy said that more than1100 wrestlers from all over the world will take part in the three day tournament. He added that the main attraction of the tournament will be the participation of the world arm wrestling champion, Michael Todd, also known as The Monster.

Pandey further said that the inaugural function of this prestigious tournament will be held at the National Institute of Physical Education on July 22. The competitions will begin on the 23rd of July. World arm wrestling champion, Michael Todd will inaugurate the tournament.  Pandey added that software of innovative technology by name Arm Score will be used to correctly evaluate the performance of the wrestlers and give accurate points. This software has been developed in Romania.  He also said that ranking system will start from this year. After the ranking, players will be selected for the main league.

Leading arm wrestlers of the country, Chetna Sharma from Assam, VT Sameer from Kerala, Yogesh Chaudhary from Haryana and Manish Kumar from Madhya Pradesh will take part in the tournament.
