Punjab BJP to launch 'Jago Mann' campaign today

Monday, 13 June 2022 | PNS | Amritsar

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday attacked the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over the law and order situation in the state. The party announced to hold district-level protests, under “Jaago Mann” campaign, to wake up AAP-led State Government from slumber over the issue of deteriorating law and order.

Punjab BJP president Ashwani Sharma, addressing a rally on the occasion of the completion of eight years of the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government at the Centre, said that the situation in Punjab is very worrying these days. “Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is not able to control Punjab’s affairs. Everyday, gangsters are committing crimes somewhere,” he said.

Holding AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and AAP's Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha for Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala’s murder, Sharma said that it was because of these people that Punjab lost its son.

Lashing out at the Chief Minister, Sharma said that Bhagwant Mann, who talked about making ‘Rangla Punjab’, is actually making Punjab bleed.

He said that the law and order situation in entire Punjab today is worsening, and “that is why, all BJP workers will burn the effigies of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann across the State under ‘Jago Mann’ campaign. BJP is committed to establish peace in Punjab”.

Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Education Dr Subhas Sarkar, who was in Amritsar on Sunday, also expressed concern over the law and order situation in Punjab and emphasized on the need for learning communication and presentation.

Sarkar opined that there was a threat to the law and order situation in Punjab. “Every second day, there is an incident of murder in Punjab,” he alleged, adding that whatever the government had promised was not able to fulfil.
