Punjab reports 45 deaths, 4189 Covid cases

45 fatalities due to COVID-19 were reported in Punjab on Thursday as the state logged 4189 fresh infections.

According to the state’s health bulletin, seven deaths were reported in Patiala, five deaths each were reported in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana, four fatalities in Ludhiana, three in Bathinda and Muktsar, two in Sangrur and Faridkot, one each in Ferozepur, Moga, SAS Nagar and Barnala.

SAS Nagar reported the highest 724 fresh cases at the high positivity rate of 48.36 percent. Among other districts, 442 cases were reported in Ludhiana, 439 in Jalandhar, 408 in Hoshiarpur. 7426 persons recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours in the state.

As per the bulletin, the active cases in the state stood at 36941.  Among them, 1185 were on oxygen support, 323 in critical care level-3 facilities and 94 on ventilator support.  Till date, 17129 people have died due to COVID in the state.

Haryana reports 18 deaths, 5770 cases. Haryana on Thursday reported 18 fatalities and 5770 fresh COVID-19 cases taking the death toll to 10237 and cumulative case tally to 932976. The number of recoveries were reported at 9759, higher than the fresh infections in the last 24 hours in the state. 

According to the state’s health bulletin, three deaths each were reported in Gurugram and Panchkula, two deaths were reported in Yamunanagar, one each in Faridabad, Sonepat, Karnal, Panipat, Ambala, Sirsa, Bhiwani, Mahendragarh, Jind and Charkhi Dadri.

1671 fresh cases were reported in Gurugram, 509 in Faridabad, 493 in Sonepat, 307 in Hisar, 256 in Panchkula, 241 in Yamunanagar, 208 in Kurukshetra, The active cases in the state stood at 35558. Till date, 887158 persons have recovered from the virus in the state.

7 deaths, 1820 cases reported in Himachal

Seven more deaths due to COVID-19 and 1820 fresh infections were reported in Himachal on Thursday. Four deaths were reported in Solan, two in Mandi and one in Hamirpur, as per the state’s health bulletin.

The death toll due to COVID has reached 3951 and the cumulative case tally stands at 265734 in the hill state. A highest number of 336 cases were reported in Kangra district followed by 285 cases in Mandi and 229 cases in Shimla.
