Ahead of the Rajinder Nagar by-election, the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) candidate Rajesh Bhatia on Sunday led a massive roadshow along with the Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi, Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta, Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari.
Thousands of people were gathered in the area including party workers and several slogans were shouted out ‘jeetega bhai jeetega Rajinder Nagar ka beta jeetega’.
Bhatia started his day by meeting morning walkers at Talkatora Park which was later followed by door to door campaign in New Rajinder Nagar and Dusghara Village.
Bhatia also assured the people that he will do all he can to make Rajinder Nagar a model constituency like it was from 1993 to 2013.
Addressing thousands of people during the roadshow, Lekhi said that eight years back Rajinder Nagar was not only the cleanest and greenest area of Delhi with the best roads, water power, sports, and education infrastructure but its villages like Todapur, Dusghara, Naraina were model villages.
“Over the past eight years, this constituency is in its worse state due to negligence of the two Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs of the constituency.
Gupta said that the people of Rajinder Nagar are fed up with filthy sewer system maintenance and erratic water supply by Delhi Jal Board (DJB). The people have made up their mind to defeat AAP this time.
Tiwari said thousands of migrant labourers live in this assembly constituency and they have not forgotten how Delhi Government has let them down during the Covid lockdown. They will vote in favour of the BJP and will defeat the AAP on 23rd June.
