Rath Yatra held in Kendrapada

The famous Rath Yatra of Lord Baladevjew at Tulashi Khetra here was celebrated on Friday amid much joy, devotion and religious fervour among the devotees after a gap of two years.

The journey started after 3 pm with the three deities in the Brahma Taladhwaja chariot, which is said to be the one of the tallest in Odisha. The chariot was stopped near the temple endowment office as per the tradition and will be pulled to the Mausima temple on Saturday.

According to locals, the Rath Yatra here is being observed since last more than 300 years. The temple of Lord Baladevjew was constructed in the year 1670 by the King of Kujanga.
