Riots witnessed in Ashoka Garden, cops stone-pelted

Heavy police force was deployed after an accident and misinformation of death of woman  at Ashoka Garden area in the evening on Saturday; people gathered, created ruckus, stone pelted at police vehicle.

In Hinautia Kachian area there was a heated argument between the two sides as a result of the scooter colliding with the car. In the fight, a woman of one side was injured, with which her relatives came to the police station. At the police station, the woman was fainting due to dizziness, so the police immediately sent the woman to Hamidia Hospital for treatment and medical examination.

Meanwhile, as a result of rumors on social media spread of death of woman, about 150-200 people gathered in front of Ashoka Garden police station and started raising slogans, which were explained by the police and the crowd was removed. Meanwhile, some people broke the glass of the car parked outside the house of the accident accused and vandalized vehicles.

After treatment, the woman came to the police station and lodged a complaint against the two accused for abusing and threatening to kill her.

The accused named on the report were immediately arrested by the police. An FIR was lodged at the police station against 25-30 unidentified persons.
