The Chhatra Congress on Monday took out a rally from the Raj Bhawan to the PMG Square and held demonstration before the Assembly, demanding justice to deceased BJB College student Ruchika Mohanty who committed suicide over alleged ragging in her hostel.
Chhatra Congress State president Yassir Nawaz alleged that the Naveen Government was conspiring to put the sensitive issue on the back burner. “The probe by the police has gone slow. Higher Education Secretary Saswat Mishra has kept mum while Higher Education Minister Rohit Pujari is evading on the plea of being infected by Corona. While there are lots of ragging cases in the higher educational institutions across the State, the Higher Education Secretary is silent over the issue,” said Nawaz, demanding action against Secretary Mishra.
He also alleged that that the BJB College Principal, hostel superintendent and warden have conspired in letting off the abettors in the suicide case and demanded that they be brought under the investigation.
