S’pur mango sent to Delhi for remunerative price

Thursday, 16 June 2022 | PNS | SAMBALPUR

The district administration here in collaboration with the State Agriculture and Horticulture departments, ORMAS and Mission Sakti has been providing good platforms to the mango farmers to sell their products at remunerative prices.

“Since it is a seasonal business, any loss will cost dear to the farmers for a year. Hence, we have made every arrangement to ensure sale of mangoes at the right price both locally and outside the State,” informed Collector, Sambalpur, Dibyajyoti Parida.

“We have made arrangements to send mangoes to the Mother Dairy, New Delhi so that the farmers will get a better price,” Parida informed. “Total 75 quintals of mangoes have been sent to Delhi by train so far and the process will continue till the end of the season,” he added.

This apart, the farmers of the district have been provided decorated stalls ‘Gan Amba Pasara’ at different places of Sambalpur town where the residents can purchase mangoes of their choice. This has been extended up to June 16 as demand is high in the market, ORMAS and Horticulture department officials informed.

“Amrapalli, Lengda, Dasheri, Mallika, Baiganpalli, Sundari and Bombay Green are the varieties of mangoes  available in Gan Amba Pasara,” informed Deputy Director ( horticulture) of Sambalpur Ranjan Das Mohapatra.
