SAIL distributes equipment among Divyang persons

On the occasion of International Disability Day, SAIL Ranchi units under its CSR drive distributed various artificial aids like tricycle, wheel-chair, CP chair, hearing aid, MSIED Kits, Braille sticks, crutches, different types of belts etc among 58 Divyangs at Namkum Block Office on Saturday.

On this occasion, MLA of Khijri Vidhan Sabha Rajesh Kachhap; Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi Rahul Sinha; Executive Director of SAIL, RDCIS Nirvik Banerjee, Executive Director of SAIL, Safety Ashis Chakraborty; Block Development Officer Gyan Shankar Jaiswal, Block CO Vinod Prajapati, Block Chief Asha Kachhap, senior officers of SAIL, public representatives of Namkum block, members of Gram Sabha were present.

Kachhap said on this occasion that the self-confidence of the disabled is their valuable ornament and we have to increase it. He thanked the SAIL management and further inspired them for the developmental works of the block. DC Rahul Sinha also gave information about other schemes of Jharkhand government in the meeting and while thanking SAIL and encouraged them to undertake developmental work in other blocks as well. Nirbhik Banerjee, Executive Director, RDCIS informed that 150 more Divyangs will be provided with artificial aids in this month itself. He said that in today's mission, the officials of District and Namkum, had an amazing team-work with SAIL and ALIMCO and wished similar joint efforts in future. Block Development Officer Gyan Shankar Jaiswal gave the welcome speech. The meeting was also addressed by C.O. Namkum Vinod Prajapati, MP Representative Pramod Singh and Block Chief Asha Kachhap.

All equipment distributed today were manufactured by the Government of India's Navratna Enterprise ALIMCO i.e. Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation. Earlier, these artificial organs and equipment were imported from abroad at high cost.

On this occasion senior officers from SAIL  P. Mala Hemrom, CGM (P&A), Jitendra Saluja, CGM(CET); Ujjwal Bhaskar, CoC; Asit Mohanty, Ram Das Tigga, S.K.Saha, Suman Thakur, Golap Chowdhary, Anish P.A., Pragya Kumari were present. On behalf of Namkum block, Zilla Parishad member Ramavatar Kerketa, Deputy Chief Veena Devi, MP representative Pramod Singh, MLA representative Madhav Kachhap, Khijri Panchayat head Carmela Kachhap, Zilla Parishad member Rita Horo and other public representatives were present. Mr. Karan Prasad, Block Welfare Officer operated the platform and equipment were distributed under the supervision of Mrs. Rajnigandha, Inclusive Education Resource Teacher. Mrs. Renu Kumari, Women Extension Officer, contributed to the event.
