In the quarter final matches of the Saransh Trophy Inter Corporate Cricket Tournament, DGP XI won over Sports Edge and Samarth Duratak defeated Dr. Raza Club. With this, DGP XI and Samarth Duratec have reached the semi-finals. BSNL was the first team to reach the semi-finals of this tournament.
In the third quarter final match played on Friday, Dr Raza Cricket Club won the toss and elected to field first. Abhishek Singh scored 55 runs for Samarth Duratec Tech, which included 1 six and 10 fours, Rahul Pillai scored 40 and Nikhil 25. For Raza Academy, G Waqar Alam took three wickets for 44 runs and Azhar Khan took one wicket for 21 runs. Samarth Duratek Tech scored 176 for four in the allotted 18 overs.
Raza Cricket Club had to score 177 runs to win but his team could only manage 120 runs for eight wickets. Akash Rajput scored the highest 43 runs for Raza Cricket Club while Anupam Gupta (4/34) and Sanket Dubey (3/8) were declared Man of the Match by Anupam Gupta for Samarth.
Earlier, in the second quarter-final match played under lights on Thursday night, Sports Edge team won the toss and elected to bat and were all out after scoring 94 runs in 16.1 overs.
Shailesh Patel 19 runs, Deepak 18 and Anand Rajak 13 for Sports Edge could only make individual scores of 2 points. For DGP XI, Vipin Suste, Mustaq Ali, Shubham Chauhan took two wickets each while Adarsh Singh, Shiv and Riyaz Iqbal took one wicket each.
Set a target of 94 runs to win, Vinay Verma played a brilliant innings of 40 runs in 34 balls, which included 2 sixes and 5 fours. Riyaz Iqbal scored 23 runs in 21 balls with the help of 4 fours.
DGP XI's team won 97 runs for 3 wickets in just 12 overs and entered the semi-finals. Vipin Suste was declared man of the match.
