Marwari Yuva Manch Mahila Samarpan Branch organized Sawan Mela, which was inaugurated by IPS officer Sandhya Rani and ophthalmologist Dr Nidhi Gadkar Kashyap by cutting the ribbon here on Monday.
Rani said on the occasion that empowerment of a woman means empowerment of the whole family. If one woman moves forward, the whole family moves forward.
Notably, an Eye Donation Awareness Camp has also been organized in the fair. In this, Nidhi Gadkar Kashyap gave information about eye donation. She told everyone that eyes should be donated and within 6 hours of the death of a person, his/her eyes can be transplanted. He also told that if we donate our eyes in time, then after us we can bring light in someone's life.
President Puja Saraogi said that the Samarpan branch has always been doing something for the needy. Keeping this trend intact, Sawan Mela is organised. This year's Sawan Mela is on August 1, 2 and 3 at Agrasen Bhavan. There are some women who have a lot of talent inside, she makes many things by staying in her house like pickles, papads, rakhis, decorating items, besides doing a lot of creativity, but to sell their goods to them, they do a lot of creativity. To give recognition to such women, we give them a platform called Sawan Mela. It has around 50 stalls. In which there are stalls of rakhis, clothes, jewellery, bedsheets, silk to sarees, dresses, etc.
Media in-charge Sarita Bathwal said that all the stalls of the fair are ready and decorated. Along with the stalls in the fair, there are also food stalls. An entertaining programme has also been arranged for the ladies of the stall. On this occasion President Puja Saraogi, Secretary Shweta Bhala, Vinita Singhania, Sumita Lath, Kavita Somani, Ranju Malpani, Sapna Singhania, Deepika Motika, Ritu Poddar, Shashi Banka, Puja Agarwal, Shubha Agarwal, Chanda Agarwal, Manisha Lohia, Hema Kejriwal were present.
