A Class-X girl on Wednesday wrote to the Chief Justice of Odisha seeking justice in a molestation case in which she was the victim and urged to reject the bail petition of the accused, who is her teacher.
The girl alleged that her mathematics teacher Biswambar Parida under the Mahakalapada police limits on July 18 was conducting a class test when he molested her at the last bench.
After returning from school, she had disclosed the matter to her mother. She also on July 20 brought the matter to the notice of the headmaster.
On July 21, the victim’s father lodged an FIR at the Mahakalapada police station against the teacher. Though the police later registered a case and started an inquiry, the accused, who is on the run, has not been arrested yet.
However, Parida was suspended when locals, guardians and students of the school started a hue and cry by staging a dharna in front of the school.
Since the accused is a frontline leader of ruling BJD in the locality, the police were going soft on him, alleged the victim.
