A South Eastern Central Railway (SECR) officer died after he was hit by a train while inspecting electrification work near Amlai station in Madhya Pradesh, an official said on Friday.
Yogendra Singh Bhati, posted as a Area Manager at Baikunthpur in SECR's Bilaspur Division, died on Thursday night, SECR (Raipur) Senior Publicity Inspector Shiv Prasad Panwar said.
Bhati sustained head injuries and was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The MEMU train was on its way to Bilaspur from Katni.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel expressed his condolences on the demise of the officer.
