A national seminar entitled “Emerging Dimensions of Corporate Reporting in the 21st Century” was organised by the DAV School of Business Management (DSBM) here in collaboration with the Indian Accounting Association (IAA), Bhubaneswar branch on Sunday.
NALCO CMD Sridhar Patra was chief guest at the inaugural session. Academician Prof Ashish Kumar Sana, Department of Commerce, Calcutta University, was guest of honour. Dr RK Swain, general secretary, IAA, Bhubaneswar branch and Dr KC Satapathy, Regional Director, DAV Institutions, Odisha, also attended the event. IAA, Bhubaneswar branch president Prof RK Bal delivered the welcome address.
The chief guest enlightened the audience about the relevance of corporate reporting. An exclusive souvenir was released on this occasion wherein 40 abstracts were published followed by a panel discussion where Prof PK Hota, Head, PG Dept of Commerce, Utkal University; Prof AK Sana; BK Dash, Group General Manager (Finance), NALCO; and CMA N Mishra, Partner, Niran & Co; were the panelists. The discussion was moderated by Prof DV Ramana, XIM University.
There were two technical sessions conducted simultaneously in the afternoon session where the participants presented their papers.
The valedictory session was attended by Prof Jas Raj Bohra, president, Indian Accounting Association as chief guest. His insightful deliberation about the idea of integrated reporting in the current scenario was highly appreciated.
