A sub-inspector was arrested on charges of molesting a woman constable in Rasulpur area of Firozabad on Thursday, police said on Friday.
Police said that the constable alleged that SI Irfan Ahmad, posted at Aliganj police station in Etah district, came to her rented accommodation on Wednesday evening and during his visit he molested her.
Police said that after the incident the constable informed the senior officer and Inspector of Rasulpur police station Kamlesh Singh about it. The inspector of Rasulpur said that a case had been registered and SI Irfan would be sent to jail.
He said that a medical examination of the constable had been done and her statement had also been recorded.
"The SI was previously posted at Rasulpur police station two months back," he said.
According to sources, the victim female constable is posted in Aliganj police station in Firozabad. She lives alone on rent in the city. In the complaint given by the victim woman constable against SI Irfan Ahmed, it is said that she was alone in the room at around 4:30 pm on Wednesday. Irfan reached her room and when she asked the reason for coming, the SI told that he had come for work so he came to see her. The lady constable said, “I put a chair outside the room in front of the door. I was ignoring him and I got busy on the phone. Meanwhile I told the sub-inspector that I have to go on duty. As I tried to lock the door and leave, the SI pushed me and molested me,” she alleged.
