Sr Citizens, under 18 youth not allowed for Republic Day function

Ranchi Deputy Commissioner, Chhavi Ranjan said on Tuesday that as per the guidelines received by the State Government, the elderly above 60 years and children below the age of 18 years are not allowed to attend the function. He directed all the officials to follow the guidelines received by the State Government.

A meeting was held regarding the Republic Day celebrations here on Tuesday. In the virtual meeting held under the chairmanship of Ranjan, the concerned officials were given necessary guidelines regarding preparation.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Ranchi, Surendra Kumar Jha, Deputy Development Commissioner, Ranchi, Vishal Sagar and other officials of the district administration were present during the meeting.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner and the SSP gave directions to the officials regarding the preparations to make the Republic Day a peaceful environment.

Jha said that for the Republic Day to be held in a better environment, elaborate security arrangements would be made, as well as special attention would be given to ensure that there is no traffic problem. Necessary guidelines were also given by the DC to other concerned officials regarding the preparations for the Republic Day celebrations.

In the meeting, Ranjan directed to complete the preparations for the Republic Day celebrations in view of the COVID transition.

 He directed to make preparations following the guidelines regarding parade and display of tableaux. In the meeting, the Executive Engineer, Drinking Water and Sanitation Department were instructed by the DC to make arrangements for drinking water supply, VIP toilets. The Road Construction Division was asked to ensure repair and cleanliness of the roads leading to Morhabadi.

Executive Engineer Building Division-1 was directed by Ranjan to ensure the arrangement of tower construction for the visitors, barricading at the venue, stage and sound box for the construction of the gallery.

The Superintendent of Police Traffic has been directed to ensure the arrangement of parking of vehicles in Morhabadi ground, appointment of traffic policemen in the connecting roads and making traffic routes and publishing them in newspapers.

District Nazarat Deputy Collector was directed to ensure preparation related to minute-to-minute programme, seating arrangement for guests etc. Necessary instructions were also given to other officials along with making arrangements for medical camps for Civil Surgeons and for making arrangements for fire-fighting in Morhabadi to District Fire Officers.

The officials of the Municipal Corporation were directed to ensure cleanliness around the venue and the Morhabadi ground.
