The cold wave has once again hit Jharkhand as most of the part of the state facing the sub-ten chill situation.
After more than a week of poor weather due to western disturbance, the weather condition had improved in Jharkhand with a sunny day with a clear sky, and of course chill in the air. But the temperature has once again started dropping as at most of the places in Jharkhand the temperature was recorded below 10 degrees Celsius.
In fact, the weather almost remained bad throughout January for various reasons including western disturbance passing through Pakistan extending between 3.1 km and 7.6 km above mean sea level. The western disturbance had caused rain and a sub-ten chill situation.
Now the sky is clear, but despite having sunny days there is no relief from the cold due to high wind speed.
IMD's Ranchi Meteorological Centre said that temperature has dropped due to the north-western wind. This weather condition will continue at least for the next couple of days after which the weather may turn pleasant.
According to IMD, on Friday Garhwa recorded a minimum temperature of 5.7 degrees Celsius and Ranchi was no better with 6.6 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature. But weather experts say that in comparison with the last 10 days, the minimum temperature has fallen by at least one degree Celsius. Hence the severity of sub-ten chill has increased.
But there is only a reprieve that there is the possibility of rain and fog at least till next week. Weather experts said that by next week the temperature will gradually increase by two degrees Celsius.
