Brother of late CDS requests people to vote for BJP

/The late Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat’s brother Colonel (retd) Vijay Rawat who recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, has appealed to ex-servicemen, families of soldiers and people of Uttarakhand to vote for the BJP in the ensuing Assembly elections. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done commendable work for soldiers and for the security and prestige of the nation. Considering this, the people should vote for the BJP in the Assembly elections for development, security and prosperity of the state.

Addressing the media here on Saturday, Rawat said that he had joined the party after being influenced by PM Modi’s leadership and the BJP’s nationalist ideology. He said that he had been unable to work in society for a long time due to health reasons but is now eager to serve the people of Uttarakhand and the nation through politics.

The brother of the late CDS said that under PM Modi’s leadership, the Government of India had done commendable work for the honour of the armed forces. The government took steps like implementing one rank-one pension and various steps for modernisation of the armed forces. “Modi understood the requirements of the jawans posted on the borders and got them equipped with the latest equipment. There was a time when army officers had to look towards Delhi to respond immediately to the enemy at the border but now they have the full authority to give a befitting reply in such situations. PM Modi has facilitated granting of equal rights to women in the armed forces while increasing their recruitment with permanent commission,” said Rawat. He further said that Uttarakhand has borders with two nations considering which a network of roads is being laid under the Bharatmala project for strengthening the borders. The BJP state spokesman Suresh Joshi, Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee chairman Ajyendra Ajay, Rajiv Talwar and other office bearers were also present on the occasion.
