Chhattisgarh Police on Thursday seized 18 kg of cannabis valued at Rs 3.60 lakhs and arrested three persons in Mahasamund district who were transporting the drugs from Odisha to Uttar Pradesh.
Mahasamund Additional Superintendent of Police Megha Tembhurkar told The Pioneer that those arrested were Sunil Dhakad (52), Prakash Rajak and Murarilal Rai (25), all residents of Madhya Pradesh.
Police intercepted a car near Temri Naka after a tip that the contraband was being transported to Uttar Pradesh, she added. The cannabis was stuffed in a two gunny bags.
The police also seized two mobile phones, Rs 2,000 in cash and the vehicle used in the crime.
