Three years’ RI to five engineers of Housing Board and two contractors in economic offence case

Five employees of Madhya Pradesh Housing Board and two contractors  were sentenced to imprisonment for 3 years, imposed a fine of Rs 2000, in addition government employees were also booked under Prevention of Corruption Act by Special judge (anti corruption) Rajiv K Paul  Bhopal.

In the special case of police station EOW, R. Goudse (Assistant Engineer), MK Kayumi (Deputy Engineer), MC Trivedi (Deputy Engineer), M Qa Khan (Deputy Engineer), RC Karada (Deputy Engineer) were sentenced under section 120B, 420, 467, 468, 471 of the IPC and Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, each accused will be punished with rigorous imprisonment for 3 years and a fine of Rs 2000.

The contractors  Prakash Mirchandani, Harminder Singh Suri were  punished under section 420, 467, 468, 471 120B of the IPC with rigorous imprisonment of 3 years in each section and fine of Rs 2000.

On behalf of the government Hemlata Kushwaha, Special Public Prosecutor/ Assistant District Prosecuting Officer presented the case.

In the construction work of Subhash Nagar Bhopal Abhiruchi Parisar complex under Madhya Pradesh Housing Board  project, the officers nd employees of Madhya Pradesh Housing Board and contractors colluded to make poor construction work by estimating the measurements contrary to the manual and on the basis of forged documents, made unappropriate payment to the contractors. Due to which the government suffered financial loss, a complaint was made in EOW against the officers and employees of Madhya Pradesh Housing Board.

After investigation, the First Information Report was registered and later it was found that corruption was done.

Presenting the charge sheet against the accused in the court, in which the accused Nirmal Singh Suri (contractor) had died during the trial. The court, agreeing with the arguments of the prosecution, said the accused YR Goudse (Assistant Engineer), M.K. Kayumi (Deputy Engineer), MC Trivedi (Deputy Engineer), M Qa Khan (Deputy Engineer), RC Karada (Deputy Engineer), Prakash Mirchandani (Contractor), Harminder Singh Suri (Contractor) were punished with the above punishment.
